Youth

YOUTH AND EDUCATION

Our children gather for bible stories, music, crafts and activities from 9:40-10:20 a.m. during part of our 9:30 a.m. worship service. A coordinated curriculum offers age-appropriate activities and lessons that center on bible stories, understanding and applying the good news of Jesus Christ in our lives. Classes are for children 4 years old through the 6th grade.

Each summer, we hold our Vacation Bible School near the end of June and focus on inviting all children in our area. We have a fun and meaningful time as we spend the morning of each of the 5 days learning special songs, making crafts, enjoying unique snacks, and enacting bible stories. A well-designed curriculum provides engaging material for children of 4 years of age through those who will enter 6th grade in the coming fall.

Confirmation classes give our 7th and 8th grade youth a special time to explore the bible and ask questions, study the Lutheran Catechism and serve in leadership roles in worship and the church.  We meet Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m., September through May.

YOUTH AND FAMILY ACTIVITIES

Throughout the year, we experience fun and fellowship through intergenerational events.  We seek to bring family and friends together through these activities. Some examples include bowling, a trip to the aquatic center, game night in the fellowship hall and horseback riding.

YOUTH MISSION TRIPS/CANOE TRIPS

We have sponsored both canoeing trips to the Boundary Waters Wilderness in Northern Minnesota as well as service trips in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

These have proven to be deeply meaningful to both the youth and adults who participate.
